Looking like she could be pulling "The Dominion", 2816's steam creates a time warp in the cold winter air at CP's Ogden campus. Although the track is a yard lead and not the main line, the date could easily be 1940 instead of 2020 as the proud Hudson struts her stuff during testing for the "Holiday Train at Home".

Her headlight cutting a radiant beam through clouds of her own steam, CP moves under her own power for the first time since 2013. In preparation for her part in CP's "Holiday Train at Home" program, the locomotive was tested for a few days beforehand to ensure that there would be no issues arising from her long period in storage. In a testament to the quality of her design and the work done by CP's steam crew in preserving her, there were no issues whatsoever and the locomotive operated flawlessly.

For the first time in seven years, 2816's firebox has a flame in it, and hot water in the boiler. In an unexpected twist to the end of 2020, the locomotive made a surprise return to steam as part of CP's "Holiday Train at Home" virtual concert.
