CN Flanger 56497 is shown in the yard at Capreol some years ago. The railroad had a handful of these converted boxcars at one time and I have to assume they are scrapped (Or in museums) This particular one, developed from 40 ft boxcar #481101, I have been unable to find information on since the early 1990s. I'm sure someone out there can present a run-down on the whereabouts of the former 56000 series fleet. Thank you in advance.!!' height='150' width='200' />
I knew big changes were coming to this area; with the soon to happen demise of the old Canada Crushed Stone facility; not much left but the Screenhouse (above train), part conveyor (over the track) and the rails on the right leading down to lower operations. The LRC-2 VIA locomotives I already found tiresome yet they were relatively new. Nice that the paint still looked fresh on the 6907 west. I posted a photo more than 12 years ago of the train crews trying to push this boat off the track to no avail. Figured this scene needed a revisit.
Luckily for all involved; a meet was to occur here, and the northbound train was just going into the siding and as a result the southbound pictured was moving rather slowly.
In this shot the boys are talking over what to do about this situation, (note the CP truck) and it turned out that all involved could not budge this boat, so the fork lift used by the boat storage place up on the hill came to the rescue.
I was just driving along and I heard the chatter on my scanner, which resulted in me showing up here. It appeared that, rolling over a very bumpy access road, the straps on the boat gave way and it slid off the trailer. I didn't ask questions. My presence was not appreciated.
SB power in the photo consists of a pair of SD90MAC, 9147 and 9153. ' height='150' width='200' />
The image shown is of their two leased units, 2886 and 3000 alongside a relatively new engine house.
I drove out to Tribune in hopes of seeing more. Nope. The track had an uneventful dead end, with rusted rail that looked like it hadn't seen a train in months.
Apparently there are two major grain operations that the LCRI services along the way, and that is about 90% of their business.
It certainly was frustrating to locate this engine house considering I really did not know where to look. Down on the dead end of an industrial road off the main highway #39 is a gravel laneway and a very small sign. The shop is down over the hill and not visible from the road. But in the end, definitely worth the hassle.' height='150' width='200' />
This one was familiar with many fans; the old MCRR/TH&B station at Fort Erie. It was known by most photographers as that modern (1949) boarded up brick building that sat abandoned on the north side of the tracks near the International Bridge. Once the TH&B dayliners ceased operation in spring of 1981, the building outlived its usefulness. It was demolished in 2000.

I'd not do this trek any more; too damn lazy; but these days the area is pretty much off limits and even hiking to the Peak requires paid parking and I think controlled hours.
In this morning view we see CN 3105 east; I have distorted this image, unfortunately, shooting full out 210 MM with a cheapo lens but at least caught the memories.
It is a long time back but I know I made the hike because that is my car parked at the Dundas station.' height='150' width='200' />
