VIA Rail is going West with the old and East with the new. A Halloween afternoon at Belleville Station has VIA Rail Corridor Service train #42 with new Venture Trainset 2213/14 to Ottawa waiting on Track 2. VIA Rail Corridor Service train #53 led by 913, rolls in on track 1 on time. #42 was late by 15 minutes allowing for the meet. The old stone Belleville station in the foreground is overshadowed by the new glass and steel structure in the background.

An exceptionally warm Halloween Day finds VIA Rail Corridor Service train #42 to Ottawa, Trainset 2213/14 passing under the West end signals at Belleville Station, Ontario. It was all treats and no tricks as my first time catching one of the new Siemens Venture trainsets.

A perfect Sunday in May afternoon finds a power mix of CN 2588 (C44-9W), CN 5653 (EMD SD75I) and CN 8815 (EMD SD70M-2) leading an extremely long intermodal. This mix is resuming its journey westward after a short crew change at Belleville ON. Photo was taken from the walkover at the Belleville, VIA Station looking eastbound over the yard. In the background an idle CN 2989 (GE ES44AC) waits with a string of auto racks.

A perfect late autumn day in Belleville, Ontario where the rail paint schemes vary like the leaves, but we enjoy them all. VIA Rail train 63 is pulling in to the station just a few minutes behind schedule. 63 is lead by F40PH-2, 6420 and trailing is P42DC, 901. Waiting to proceed out of the yard with a long string of auto racks is ES44AC, CN 3090, looking a little worse for wear.

Via Rail Train 44 after crossing the Napanee Viaduct heads on its way to Ottawa on a gloomy Saturday afternoon. Locomotive 900, a GE P42DC is looking equally as gloomy, sporting the 40th Anniversary motif. CN 2321 with CN 4641 makes a slow climb from the Belleville Yard and heads eastbound on the newly triple tracked Belleville to Kingston Subdivision. This shot taken from Airport Pkwy and Mitchell Crossroad crossing, looks back nearly a mile.
