Going.....going...gone. The old Brampton diamonds is nothing but history. The former "mainline" and CNR connecting track covered in weeds and overgrowth. I found a trace of the connecting track however it is mostly ripped up. The signals are now dark. I will miss the banging sounds as the trains passed over the diamonds.

Looking at Peter Lokun's 1972 photo of Brampton CPR station (<a href=http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=53254><b>id=53254</b></a>) brought back a lot of memories for me. Today I took a photo of roughly the same location. As you can almost see the old freight ramp to left in the trees. The passing siding is all but gone leaving the "mainline" in weeds. The only clue there was a station here is the old red CP Rail sign on the telegraph pole "No unauthorized parking). What a sad sight.
