Even at this late date, CN's first generation outnumbers the second, although I'm sure the crew prefers the comforts that came with 9531. For those who want to ascertain which are still in CN's employ, the numbers are 9531, 4530, 4527, 4584, 4575. <br>

A CN Tempo train passes under the telltales at the site of Paris' second station, the first being located at Paris Jct. The express house still stands at this date in time, used mainly for storage. Unfortunately, in the present day, CN, having no regard for the neighbourhood that surrounds this area, has turned this location into a junk yard.

Being in the right place at the right time is important, but ultimately, timing is everything.
<br>
Case in point, as CN 434 crept into my frame and stopped, I could hear the echo of VIA 75 spread out over the Grand River as it strode across the bridge just out of sight. The question was, would 434 pause long enough before shoving back to make its lift, before 75 swung around the corner to make the meet. The answer was a satisfying yes!

A pair of H16-44s sun themselves by the turntable. As relayed to me by an employee, had I turned up the previous day all five remaining C-liners were present. I'm sure everyone has a story about missed opportunities similar to that.

OSR 6508 & 1401 are seen westbound at the intersection of Harrietsville Drive and Dorchester Road on the way to St. Thomas. All three Fs were on the road this day, with 1400 working the Woodstock Job along with GP9 1620.

One of my favourite places to shoot CN 331. Depending on the size of the lift at Paris West, the grade through here was sufficient enough that the power usually put on a pretty good audio and visual demonstration.

With their work completed at Galt, CP 4015, 8778, and an unidentified FA-1 continue their westward journey in an eruption of exhaust. Surmounting Orr's Lake Hill is their next big challenge, one they'll meet without breaking stride.<br><br>How's this Rob?

Positioned at Hamilton West this overcast winters day, CN 9531 and companion have come out of Aldershot Yard to the east, and are waiting on an approaching westbound. Due to some fussy motive power, it may or may not need an assist climbing the escarpment to Copetown, so the RTC is setting things up to keep potential delays to a minimum. As I'm scouting angles to cover this, CN #328 unexpectedly appears and slips down the Cowpath into Hamilton with SOO 6037 & 6056.<br>
<br>
Not to leave you hanging, the westbound made it to Copetown unassisted.

The Adirondack has just departed Montreal West for New York City, powered by PA-4 #16. The Montreal Olympics were on at this time, but I admit I was more interested in getting a PA.

For a while the 9100s were plentiful around Toronto, but before you knew it, they were gone. Every railway seems to have a locomotive that fails to meet expectations - I guess this was CPs.
