Here's another view of the defunct crossing control tower and transfer shed by the CPR Galt / CNR Milton sub looking South towards the old CNR Milton station and Robertson plant. The buildings became obsolete when CNR built the highline by-passing the whole area. Taken from my fathers collection.

On a rainy day the CNR Brampton station sits rather lonely with a lone CNR box car at the OCS unloading dock. It won't be long that those absolute signals might get up-graded now that the old Credit Valley RR (CPR Orangeville Sub.) diamond is no longer... Taken from my fathers collection.

Here's Credit Valley 1057 in its heydays of steam excursions. We chased this train all the way from Guelph up to the CPR Goderich station as seen in the photo. Sad that this line is gone and the 1057 still waiting for an overhaul since the 2000's. Maybe some day she'll be back in service...

I was recently given a slide collection from a good friends late brother, Maurice Dann. Gong through them I found this great shot of the CNR Turbo heading into Union station for its Montreal run. Its not too often you would see the Turbo this clean and John street surrounded by nothing.

Here's a neat photo I came across from my dads collection- A CNR Windsor bound passenger train in a 1X1 configuration and with the old Oakville basket factory siding in the background. Check out the old rail cars to the far right in the photo, one would wonder if they were left behind for storage etc. The passenger train is heading westward when track 3 at Oakville was connected to the main at the west end before Kerr street.

I'm not sure if I would be looking on if one was using a torch to cut the CW Rail without safety glasses but that's how it back in this 1977 photo. Here's a CNR CWR train laying rail at Chartwell street as the conductor looks on with his lunch box radio, waiting to pull the movement westward and to start dropping the rail clear of the crossing. Norwood, where there was once a beautiful two story station with a freight shed now stands a glorified bus shelter. Here's the lonely CPR Norwood shelter that serves the morning and evening Budd Car commuters.

On another of my fathers famous country side excursions, we made our way to the old 1902 CNR Fergus station. Not much happening as evident of the rusted rails, some CNR OCS flat cars and the all too common boarded-up windows of defunct railway stations. As sad as it looks, one could only imagine of what this scene looked like at the turn of the century when trains ruled. Taken from my fathers collection...

On a trip to the Hamilton farmers market at Centre mall, my father would detour over to Birmingham Ave to check out some TH&B action. Here's the Fisher yard office with a full Fisher yard. Back in those days there were a few jobs that started out of Fisher yard and one required a clearance to go up the Belt Line to the connecting Kinnear yard. The yard office and most of the tracks are long gone save two plus the Fisher main and the Stelco lead. Taken from my fathers collection
