An eastbound GO service, that could use its face washed, passes MP 331 on the Kingston Sub, May 12th, 2023. The south track has been out of service for some time as part of the Lakeshore East line expansion. This will be the location for the planned Gerrard station and interchange with the Ontario Line.

At Brant Junction the Burford spur heads south to the old industrial area of Brantford, and the Dunnville Sub to Caledonia and Fort Erie passes overhead on an old stone and iron bridge. A westbound freight led by CN6006 and a Conrail loco passes by on the Dundas sub, while the switcher waits for clearance to return to Brantford yard, 8/10 mile west. February 1994

CP Rail train T08 rolls past Peterborough station on its way to Havelock and then up the 20 mile long Nephton Subdivision to Blue Mountain where it will service the nepheline syenite mine. Power is a pair of GP20C- ECO’s and a GP38-2. Peterborough station, built in 1884 by the O&Q Rwy, is one of the earliest CPR stations in Canada still on its original site.

On a fine late winter morning, an eastbound CP Rail freight train rolls across the bridge over the Otonabee River in central Peterborough this morning on its way to the Nephton mine north of Havelock. Three locomotives, led by GP20C-ECO 2259, provide the power.

A westbound VIA train of conventional coaches speeds through Woodstock station led by LRC 6909 and a B unit. There are boxcars in the small yard, a semaphore train order signal and the old Bay Street bridge. The station is still there, but everything else has gone.

As Extra 3223 slows on its approach to Brent, an isolated crew change point on the northern edge of Algonquin park, two of the crew members poke their heads out of the side window to get their photo taken. The first car in the consist looks to be a flanger. The Beachburg Sub was part of the Transcontinental Mainline, built by The Canadian Northern Railway in 1915. It was abandoned in 1995.

Just make a right when you get to Bruce Street... a member of the crew keeps watch as a train hauling a string of 50 foot boxcars for the GM North Plant in Oshawa negotiates the 5 mph curve turning east onto Bruce Street not long before the plant was closed.

Running north on Ritson Road, mile 1.9 of the Oshawa Railway, SW1200RS 1366 and 1339 run the red light at Bond Street as they approach the General Motors North Plant. Unfortunately, I didn't note the date I shot the photo, but the rails were removed in 1998.
