This is my personal favorite shot and image of preparing the Southbound train to Skagway, Alaska. Automobiles, Bus and Camper were loaded directly in front of the Whitehorse Station to flat cars. A switching progress was required to bring the loaded cars to the Southbound train. I wished that this image was still possible, today. But all is history. Two General Electric Diesel engine at the White Pass & Yukon Route headquarter in Whitehorse, Yukon. The picture were made back in August 1971. At this time, there were a lot of fire in the Yukon. The visibility was not the best, as the image show the dust, too. Photographer unknown. Original slide in the collection of Boerries Burkhardt. http://www.whitepassfan.net
