For the very first time, CN's Elgin Joliet & Eastern heritage unit is seen in the Niagara Region, as the leader on Toronto to Port Robinson manifest train A421. It is seen tied down at its destination just a few minutes after the crew got off. The full power was CN 3023, CN 2832, and CN 3970 as mid DPU.

After a significant snowfall 2 nights prior, the north track of CN's Grimsby subdivision between Hamilton and Nelles Road would be used for the first time since the snow. CN ET44ACs 3196 and 3245 would be powering the late CN A421 crossing Ontario Street, Grimsby, where the snow plow had been through shortly prior, causing a large snowbank which would be decimated as seen in the photo.

Just after 7am on a cool spring morning, CN A421 breaks the silence barreling towards the town of Beamsville, ON with CN 2242's narrow font K5HL blasting for the Lincoln Avenue level crossing.

After getting my DSLR the previous day, I was put to the test, and given a high headlight SD70M-2 leading CN A421 in nice light. Having an 8000 series SD70M-2 lead this train is rare these days, so I am glad it turned out and the sun was out. It is seen here passing by the St.Catharines station on the CN Grimsby sub's north main track.
