Courtice was at Highway 2 & Courtice Road and was an unincorporated community within Darlington township. Newcastle would also be correct as that was the name of the municipality before it was renamed to Clarington. The largest town in Newcastle/Clarington is Bowmanville, which is where the Darlingtion township offices were. Newcastle was renamed to Clarington to avoid confusion with Newcastle village which was historically part of Clarke township. Darlington (CP siding) and Clarke (CN station) both live on as railway locations.
