Comments on: 134 year old rail. This rail is on the gauntlet track on a bridge over the Missisquoi river on MMA’s Stanbridge Sub in Bedford, Qc. The main rail is from the 1920s/30s. This bridge was constructed in 1879 by the South Eastern Railway, a CP predecessor, so this gauntlet rail has never been changed. The whole subdivision including the bridge was in use until a couple of months ago; it is out of service now at Transport Canada’s orders until the condition of the whole line is improved.
