<title>Comments on: 15 Floors Up and Heading for the Northlands. At the pinnacle of morning rush hour in Toronto, Ontario Northland&#8217;s daily (except Saturday) Northlander departs Toronto&#8217;s Union Station at 9:00am sharp. Negotiating the maze of tracks to the east of the trainshed over the Yonge Street viaduct, the train will make its way over to Cherry Street and head up the Bala Sub, where it will begin its journey to northern Ontario. GP38-2 &#8220;Class unit&#8221; 1800 leads today&#8217;s typical consist of ex-MILW F7B HEP generator car 202, and single-level Hawker Siddeley coaches 609, 600, &amp; 702 that are all-too-familiar with Union Station; having worked for GO Transit for decades out of Toronto. But all good things must come to an end. Discontinued by the Ontario Liberal government at the end of September 2012, to the photographer the Northlander will always be that mismatched oddball of a passenger train departing amid a flood of GO Trains from 15 floors up.</title>
