	<title>Comments on: 4-8-4 &#8220;Northern&#8221; CN 6247 appears to be working hard at low speed, with a crewman watching the front left from his cab window. 
The engine and train are about to pass MLW S-2 switcher CN 8133, class MS-10a built in 1949.
CN 6247 was built by MLW in Sept 1943, CN class U-2-h. It was scrapped in July 1961.

The negative data indicated location Danforth, presumably on the 3 km section of CN&#8217;s Kingston sub that runs within 200 meters of Danforth Ave in Scarborough (Toronto).  CN Danforth is about 5 rail miles east of Toronto Union station, while GO Transit Danforth Station is at Main St.</title>

At Danforth Yard, nearly all the yard tracks are on the south side of the then Belleville Sub main line and it looks to me the main line tracks are in the foreground. If this is correct, then 6247 is eastbound, entering into the south side of the yard, maybe to make a pick up or a drop off from Mimico Yard. Interesting that there are no extra flags flying. Many thanks for posting.</description>

To me there seems quite a ressemblance between the firebox truck of 6247 and its tender truck. 
As well as &quot;Blunt&quot; switcher trucks, I read that Mr. Blunt of ALCo designed steam engine trucks - maybe I&#039;m imagining similarity between the front (engine) truck of 6247 and what&#039;s under 8133.
About location, I&#039;ve since learnt that Danforth Yard ran eastward from Main St. in  Toronto, likely continuing into Scarborough.</description>
