451 is typically nocturnal, generally ordered late on the previous day (say 23:00-ish) but can get delayed leaving Mac Yard. If said delays accumulate that can put departure time into the beginning of "rush hour" in the southern parts of the Bala Sub. Since it has the least priority when it comes to GO trains and container traffic and the like many times it gets set back enough to put it into daylight by the time it gets to the Newmarket north of Washago. Sometimes it even gets delayed enough to time out in which case they'll find a place to park it until the crew gets their required rest period. Several years ago they'd sometimes cab up a new crew in situations like that but I haven't heard of that happening lately.

Does train 541 usually run during the day or during the night? I'm a little confused because I have heard that it often runs at night but I have also seen a lot of photos both new and old of this train running during the day.
