Comments on: 8710 has been the lead unit on 255 of late, and here it leads out of the Hunter Street tunnel on the northbound trip out of Hamilton. You can just barely see the top of the Hunter Street Station in the distance over the top of the train/tunnel/street. This shot took some consideration for timing to get a shot void of shadows on the unit, as the corridor was otherwise quite streaky in the early evening sun with shadows from nearby trees.

Interesting date on top of the tunnel. If we use 1957 as a date (for fun) for the end of steam. Then this tunnel has seen 62 years of steam engines and 62 years of diesels passing through it.
