Comments on: A 16 week stint loaned to CN’s western division during an eastern layoff led me to Edson; not a scenic capital of Alberta. A lot of downtime led to watching trains hoping for a next call that rarely came. On the upside, these 2 SD40′s taking yet another grain train to the west coast. Once the Edson west midnight switchtender was cut once the CTC cut in, the was no spare work.
