Comments on: A business trip to Vancouver in 1995 gave me the opportunity to spend a Sunday shooting in the Vancouver area. While scouting locations to photograph the afternoon Amtrak departure from the Pacific Central station, I came across BN 194 and 192 (both former Northern Pacific SW1200s) which I believe were bringing cars from the nearby interchange yard (with CN and Southern Railway of British Columbia/former BC Hydro). The three tracks behind the boxcars in the fenced in area is where BN kept their engines, cabooses and MOW equipment. By this time in the 90's that neighborhood was becoming increasingly dangerous and not a great place in the daytime and certainly off limits at night. In a few years they would remove many of these tracks and the BN engines and equipment would be stored in New Westminster at Braid Street instead.
