Comments on: A couple of re-geared CN GP40s (9316 & 9317) helped out on the GO commuter trains for a bit in early 1982, and were fairly common for that short while. Here is GO 710 with CN 9317 (formerly 4017) stopped at Burlington West en route to Hamilton during the evening ‘rush’.

No action on the Beach sub any more. It was probably waiting for passenger traffic to clear so it could go back to Oakville. The chemical plants and such provided a lot of work for CN and especially CP.

Great photo Arnold! However, can't help but notice the 'boose to the right of the nose on 710. Was it on a local freight, waiting for clearance off the old Beach Sub.?
