Comments on: A favourite shooting place that was, in my own mind, underutilized. Just didn’t have the time, and it wasn’t long after discovering this spot that it became overgrown and off limits. It is now fenced off private property of Walker Industries (Quarries) But I did get a couple of nice shots here….a spot initially located as I was trying to find a scene for the start up of AMTK thru Niagara that would not be duplicated by other photographers. And succeeded. In this shot, CN 5513, 5500 and 9499 are Niagara-bound thru ‘CN Iron Bridge’. The sprawling Glendale Av GM plant dominates the background. Two GP38-2 and a GP 40. I loved that plain black with white noodle scheme for some odd reason.

Arnold, I don't recall seeing either Gingrich or Kiley, but any amphibian you can find in our part of the world you could find in that quite large pond. There were fish too. Wonder if that pond is still there? I know there's a golf course on the north side of the tracks.

I had that same sort of childhood, Joe; but in north Burlington. You've got me wondering if there were any newts in this water. They were my favourite critters. :o)

On the thread for another photo of this trestle - taken by the same gentleman - I mentioned that the body of water we see in the foreground was a favourite location for me, when I was a kid catching critters. That was quite a hike from my home - across from Interlake/Kimberly-Clark - to there, and back, with my pail(s).

Didn't think you could get near this area anymore, Docta you will have to shed some light on that next time I see you in Merriton haha.

Thanks, Lad. I am rather surprised this location is not all that popular with most train buffs in the area. I rarely see shots of the bridge even up close.
