The CP Goderich Sub to Hamilton (presently part of the Hamilton Sub) branches out at the bottom left, with the north portion of the Goderich Sub continuing to Guelph (the Guelph Junction Railway) and on to Goderich partially visible in the background on the right.

I should add, this track configuration was already changed by the time I started in 1973. Oldtimers sometimes talked about the old track setup, that’s where I got some of my info. It seems that a lot of things changed in the decade before I started.

I belive that the double track ended about 10 cars ahead of that van, the staggered signal with its back to us, governed eastward movements over the spring switch. That switch was later moved to the vicinity of the road crossing at the west end of the yard. It was removed when CTC arrived at “the Jct.” in the early 1980s. The end of double track was moved even further west to its current location.
