Comments on: A nice selection of power lays over at CN’s Spadina Roundhouse locomotive servicing tracks in downtown Toronto. Visible in the middle is Ontario Northland FP7 1518 (a regular visitor to Spadina Roundhouse off the “Northland” ONR-CN pooled passenger train) coupled to CN FPA4 6776, its likely running mate. RS18′s 3726 and 3123 bracket RS10 3083 (whose short hood ended up as a spare at Moncton NB shops by 1975, after the 244-fleet was retired). A CN 1900-series GMD-1 is also visible in the distance.

In the foreground are some CN “GS” bottom-dump gondolas. In the background, the old Maple Leaf Mills elevators on the harbourfront (opened in 1928 as Toronto Elevators Ltd with a 2 million bushel capacity, demolished in 1982-83. The VIA-CN Spadina facilities would follow a similar fate a few years later).
