<title>Comments on: A pair of Duluth, Missabe &amp; Iron Range Railway SD9&#8242;s, 169 &amp; 149, handle a westbound freight on the new &#8220;bypass&#8221; portion of CN&#8217;s Halton Sub at Halwest in March 1966. Of note, trailing behind the power is a Canada Southern (CASO) lettered triple hopper.

The Halton and York Sub trackage between Halwest and Pickering was constructed on the suburban outskirts of Toronto in the early-mid 1960&#8242;s (completed 1965) to divert freight traffic around the top end of city, freeing up track time downtown to allow GO Transit train service to commence on the Oakville/Kingston Sub rail corridors in 1967.</title>
