Comments on: A quartet of GMD SW1200RS switchers take a London-bound extra west through Leaside. At right, lots of TOFC traffic brings up the tail end of a switching move being made by an eastbound freight from Sudbury, led by CPR 8623 and SOO 2501-C, one of a number of SOO Line units leased during the early to mid 1960s. See Bill Thomson’s shot of SOO f-units at Guelph Junction HERE.

This is probably the London Pickup as a trio of "pups" was the usual power. What is a bit unusual, is the rear facing unit in the consist. The pickup power was usually marshalled "elephant style". The same power was typically held at Quebec Street for next morning's number 50, the eastward pickup to Toronto. It is possible that the last unit, or last two units were destined for Woodstock.
