Comments on: A rainy day down at the Burlington Beach lift bridge finds CN RDC-1′s 6106 and 6111 crossing over the Burlington Bay Canal on CN’s Beach Subdivision at Hargrove, likely doing a photo run-by for the Upper Canada Railway Society fantrip they’re on. CN’s Toronto to Niagara Falls Budd “Railiner” RDC runs typically operated through Hamilton via the Oakville-Grimsby Subdivisions, so a pair on the “Beach Branch” wasn’t a common occurance. The QEW’s Burlington Bay Skyway bridge is visible jut behind. The CN Beach Sub from Burlington to Stoney Creek, originally a through-route for the Hamilton & North Western Railway, was soon severed due to mid-70′s QEW freeway construction, and short spurs were operated at each end until abandonment in the early 80′s.
