I was “home” in Ontario for a family visit and spent sometime with my Grandmother in St.Thomas. Did a short time railfanning while there and got a few images of the C&O. My Grandfather was an Engineer for the Wabash in St Thomas and the street he lived on there were railroader neighbors that worked for the CN, Wabash, NYC and the PM (C&O). Oh what a joy that would be to chat with those folks now. I don't know specifically why the front steps etc are fresh, but a good guess would be a low speed collision with another piece of equipment, or a crossing accident.
