Comments on: A set of four units tows OSR’s plow into Ingersoll en route back to the Salford Shop. This scene is actually the CAMI Job (1210, 1244, 1245) towing the plow extra (182), which had run into electrical issues a few times during the run to St. Thomas (city limits). Dying about a mile west of CAMI, the set of pups came to tow the plow back to the shop.

CAMI Job? While CAMI has not required a dedicated job for a few years, one was run to move a large number of cars between the CAMI yard, used for any traffic at the moment, and CN Beachville. The Woodstock also was assigned three units (8235, 1620, 1594), and two for the St. Thomas (1591, 102), which met the plow at Belmont.

"Flanging" was a necessity years ago on the Galt Sub hill up to Guelph Jct. before omnidirectional CTC changed things. The added friction of packed snow between the rails resulted in trains stalling & having to 'double" the hill. In additio,n even if trains did not stall, added fuel was used. I wonder if OSR was running this just to reduce fuel use & improve the haulage ability of the power?

Thank you, John. More of a flanging run than anything. Always nice to shoot the plow.
