Comments on: A slightly later than normal NS #327 autoparts train, Buffalo to St. Thomas. Nice to see one of those white KCS units (670-676) that CP bought on the lead. Looking eastward from the Merritt St. bridge power is CP 671, NS 2809 and CP 5526. Tough shot in morning sunshine. The 671 renumbered to CP 5416 in late 1997 and retired 2001. I never did see this unit renumbered and wondered if it actually got painted to CP or not.

You’re welcome. My listings of #328 back then were erratic, as there were lots of other places to be…….and the #328 was a pair of black NS almost every day at that time.

Paul: I’m sorry, I haven’t the time frame for #327/328 but if I can find anything out I will post it here. My notes show I caught #328 at Merritton in August of 1994. Some other listings in which I was at Dundas in 1993 showed no mention of these trains, however. So that might narrow it down.
Perhaps a scholar on this list will know. )

Thanks for the update on 5416. I wondered if was just assigned the number and stored. Once again a dull day shot, but that is all you can do with westbound morning trains on the Grimsby. To Doc: MIGHT be another train on the bridge. Sure looks that way. Local??

Ahh, breaking out the goodies now are you Arnold?!; another great shot of how much more interesting Merritton used to be before they removed most of the track. CP 5416 went to NRE in 2004, apparently without ever getting proper CP paint.
