<title>Comments on: A tale of two railways, but run basically by the same company. Above you&#8217;ll see the GIO Railways &#8220;St. Thomas and Tillsonburg Railway&#8221; as I understand it, this is the legal name of the company. The train is in Aylmer and you&#8217;ll see in the background is Elgin Feeds Country Store/Shur-Grain. There&#8217;s quite a difference here though as the large concrete silos that were once here are gone. Compare to This picture of the St. Thomas and Eastern with ALCO power as they shuffle around Aylmer when the silos were up. With GIO Rail purchasing Trillium in 2018, they effectively bought the company that once operated the ST&amp;E. Funny how the name is so similar yet different &#8211; wondering why they didn&#8217;t&#8217; just revive the ST&amp;E name as they probably own it now. P.S: For those wondering the Niagara region operations are still the Trillium Railway as a wholly owned subsidiary of GIO Rail Holdings.</title>
