Comments on: A weekend CN passenger #75 is just coming off the CN Oakville Sub onto the Dundas, heading west in this late afternoon image. It is a real shame I cannot find my notes, so the only ID I have is the CN 6782 leader. This looks to be a long train, and the A-B-B-A power is impressive. Note in the far background that this is PRE-walkbridge, that is the old access bridge to the Snake Rd back there. It was replaced by the modern walkbridge in 1975.

Fabulous image Arnold! A text book example of CN’s late 1950′s re-branding initiative known as the ‘Visual Redesign Program’. Allan Fleming’s handiwork(with help from a NYC based design firm) would debut in 1961 and, beginning in 1978, disappear into VIA.

I’m trying to remember what I shot this image with.At first I’m thinking ‘Instamatic’ but now I seem to recall a Kodak Hawkeye. The ‘serious’ part I was going thru around that time was trying to come up with the moola for a decent camera.

What equipment were you using back then?
