After a bit of digging, this train is probably the Parkdale-Mimico "Swansea Transfer" according to Ray Kennedy's OldTimeTrains site: http://www.trainweb.org/oldtimetrains/CPR_Toronto/SWANSEA_OFT.htm

557 is now based at Aldershot and starts at 2000. It serves customers between Burlington and Clarkson and turns there. The one customer exception is Suncor near Burloak that is switched by 547. 547 now starts at 1000 so they are finished at Suncor much earlier now so as to not get in the way during the GO rush. I should also add that customers on the cement lead off 9th Line are usually switched by 556.

Does 543 service the Clarkson Yard in Mississauga for Suncor and the industries West before Oakville as well? I used to catch the job at 4pm.. rush hour oddly enough when I lived there a few Years ago.

CN train 543 usually runs downtown Monday nights to service customers in the Port Lands. It usually does this after serving customers at Mimico. 543 is a turn based out of Oakville that works Monday to Friday starting around 2100.

CN 435 was the last regular through train to use the Bala/Oakville routing rather than the Halton Sub routing as they delivered Oakville cars to Oakville. After GO built CN an extra track at Aldershot (KA30) to handle the Oakville traffic there CN agreed to reroute 435 via the Halton Sub. CN retains trackage rights via "downtown" but uses them rarely. Extra auto trains delivering auto racks to Oakville are the most common.

Metrolinx bought the line from CN a few years ago. Aside from a local train or two, CN has rerouted all its freights to the Halton Sub to the north. CP gave up running rights they had on this line around 2009 or so.

@danjohn289 they ran a lengthy freight, sorry I don't know the number, in the afternoon, just before rush hour a few Years ago. Apparently Metrolinx owns the rails now just as they do where I am in Toronto. Daniel Odette though has caught a local servicing the Port lands area here: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=21102. So if you're lucky, you'll see CN servicing industries on the Oakville sub but largely it's Passenger traffic now.

Does CN still operate on these tracks? I remember seeing freight on them when I was much younger, but haven't seen any for years.

That would be Sunnyside where a station once stood. Nice catch on the CP local. You'd be hard pressed to see even a CN freight along those tracks now. And there's a CN noodle logo just behind of where you shot this now. :)
