Comments on: Absolutely amazing watching the process of rail replacement on the Oakville Sub at Humber. The panel tracks for the approaches to the Humber are built off site, then loaded on these really cool remote controlled self propelled trolleys (8 in total). When the panel track is in position on the track next to the one being replaced, the robot gantries that are sitting on top of the new rails put their arms down on to the ballast and lift the panel track up and off the dollies. Then the 8 trolleys are remotely removed from under the panel track. The gantries which can move vertically and horizontally now can move the panel track over towards the graded roadbed and set into place.
