Comments on: Admittedly these big grubby looking MLW products aren’t the most photogenic locomotives of the past, but they sure were a memorial event when they rumbled by. For those who have heard their unique sound will never forget it. I sure miss them!! Bringing in a long train and then dropping it off at the yard just to the east of Truro are CN 2008, 2021 and 2023. All these M-420(W) behemoths on CN were retired or sold by 1996.

Awesome shot....I agree a truly unique sounding locomotive, especially when they are being worked hard.

But....these are not M420(w) units, they're C630M's

Neat shot Mr Mooney, I spent a day in Truro this past summer and all I could find was Via 15! It's funny...the line isn't that busy and yet all the trains ran through under the cover of darkness, I certainly heard my fair share of trains during the night though!
