Comments on: After dropping four loaded box cars at WP Warehousing on the north side of the CN Grimsby Sub, Trillium brings the empties up the hill on the Thorold Sub/Spur with leased power GMTX 340. This recognizable location, made famous by the steep grade and the Welland canals twin flight locks as a backdrop have been captured a number of times by other Railpictures photographers including Arnold Mooney, Geoff Elliott and Doctapinklaces.

Thanks Mike! They actually just leveled all the brush on the embankments on both sides of the tracks surrounding the bridge I'm on. This shot doesn't show it though, they took so long getting here from the CN that this was the only sun left in the cut.

Excellent catch, Mark. Tough to get light in that cut, even more so than when I shot it in 1998, thanks to all that vegetation.
