The control building is in it's second location. The original control building was on the swing span but it was lost due to a fire in the 1980's. The span immediately behind the control building is a replacement span. The original span was knocked out by a barge. More than once I had to walk out to the swing span and you had to be aware of rail traffic at all times. After the Pattullo bridge was built the road structure was removed from the rail bridge. Also the bridge was originally owned by "Public Works Canada" and is now owned by CN. A really good photograph with some interesting, but hidden history in it.
