Hi John,
We have found the photo in question. While giving the middle finger is a very rude action for one of our employees to take, I can’t help but wonder if the Conductor was trying to caution you away from our tracks.

 However I know this is not the proper way to get a rail safety message across, and CP apologizes for the way this employee delivered it.

 Please ensure you are 50 feet away from the middle of our track whenever you are rail fanning,
