Comments on: An eastbound rolls through Guelph Jct behind a pair of RS3s and a pair of FA1s. The last unit in the consist is likely off-line, since CP cab units did not have nose-MU capability.

I believe that he's coming off the singe track & onto the double track at this point. They used to have a spring switch where the tracks split further west, not sure about here but I'd guess yes. Prior to the installation of CTC for the GO service in 1981(?)we had a "current of traffic" east of Guelph Jct and unless subject to special orders, trains kept to the right side in their Direction of Travel.

Ronald that makes sense, it looks like the train is crossing over to the south track here. Seems odd they'd have a crossover at this location!

The end of two tracks was somewhere in the vicinity of this photo, before it was extended to the crossing & later west of the crossing when CTC was installed. That signal cantilever is quite interesting too.
