Comments on: An embarrassment of riches. This train went through Elkhart, Indiana, very early Frida morning, as a 1+1 DPU job. It died somewhere between Woodstock and Ayr yesterday and was parked overnight. (CP had a bad day yesterday…stalls, crews running out of time). So an unexpected treat this morning as 8906, KCS’s 5015 4826 4797, CP 8800, BNSF 4466 and UP 5450 nose in DPU rumble through the snow just east of Cambridge. All the colours you could ask for.

It floor me how long it takes trains to get over the Galt and Windsor Subs. When I worked as an operator, 904 for example would leave Windsor by 10:30, 2’15″ London, crew change and would be by Guelph Jct by 15:00.
