Given the timing for this job in the day, I had to settle for an overcast day as it was usually a morning train which would have totally backlit this scene if sunny. Also of note, while taking this photo, the Manager of this (at the time) ADM facility was standing beside me because I wasn’t apparently allowed to take photos OF their property (Not true, I can take photos of what I want, from public property, it’s the law). I stood my ground and took my photos and did not tresspass. It was a very unpleasant experience but I got what I wanted. There was also a public trail but I didn’t want to push it, this guy was a real asshole and would simply follow me on foot. Lucky for me, T15 had a rather interesting GP40 for a leader – is 4657 still with us? Needless to say I never tried again after this :)

Just depends who you run into. The funny thing in my case is I did not trespass one bit, he was adamant I can’t take photos OF his facility.

I was at this spot once and I got a completely different experience, the truck drivers coming out all waved at me. Sorry about yours… wonder if it had anything to do with the neighbourhood wanting to get rid of ADM now Cargill off this property on Old Barbertown Rd?
Too bad they don’t serve Cargill here anymore…

Being a weekday operation.. it was too much effort to come down…. I usually had work and tried to tie a visit to a work trip like a Conference or Seminar in the GTA as it wasnt worth a day off otherwise, just a quick get it and get outta there.

Odd, I’ve shot there numerous times over the years, even back in the day standing between the tracks as they switched. Granted I’d never try it these days. I guess I was lucky as I was never approached by anyone there. The facility was once more open to the public before all the fencing was installed a number of years ago.
