Comments on: Another in the list of “station series” photos uploaded to this site is this late day image shot at Montague, PEI. Very attractive building. I’d like to know if it is still standing, and if so, what it is used for. Its too quaint to be dismantled !! The subdivision of the same name terminated here.

DAY: I dropped in at the station during a recent trip 05/17. Station has been relocated higher up and back on hillside farther from the road. Tourist Bureau on one half and Gift Shop in the other. Beautiful place. As well, it is simply amazing what PEI has done with all those bike trails replacing the railroads.

David: Entirely possible the line extended to Murray Harbour and down to Wood Island. I have not a map showing such. Wood Island was accessed by Murray Harbour Sub., but looking at the map a direct line from Montague to Murray River seems to make logical sense. The island certainly was criss-crossed with a lot of mileage considering the population.

Station is still there. Repurposed as a tourist centre I believe. Did this line not continue down to Wood Islands to a ferry dock?
