<title>Comments on: Another one from the &#8220;stations that aren&#8217;t there anymore&#8221; files: Shooting an F59PH passing by the Bramalea GO station was trickier than one thought, as the CN RTC typically lined GO trains onto the south track for the easy transition to/from the Weston Sub at Halwest, thus north track shots like this (without the elevator building in the way) weren&#8217;t easy to come by. Here, Georgetown line train #207 (the 4:45pm from Toronto making all stops, our ride home) powered by GO Transit F59PH 538 departs in the rain, past the station building as umbrella-toting commuters head for the stairwells and elevators.

The old Bramalea station, a unique and interesting low-profile mid-70&#8242;s building original to the opening of the line in 1974, would be demolished in 2021 and replaced with a new Metrolinx-style GO station, bus terminal, and very large parking garage. There was some interesting wooden truss work under that roof, which always seemed to be missing a few of those light green shingles (chic for the era, no doubt). A bit of a shame there was never a station-side platform for easier access.</title>
