Comments on: Another photo for the Station Gallery: The former CP Kleinburg station is shown after it had been moved to a permanent location on the grounds of the Kleinburg Public School. Station has been fully restored and is now the “Railway Station Scout House”. The original station was built approximately 1870 when the narrow gauge Toronto Grey & Bruce was pushing its way north from Toronto. CP took over the line in 1883 and when this station burned, the one shown here was constructed in 1908. Kleinburg was by 1921 a stop for 13 passenger trains daily ! Time marched on, passenger traffic dwindled after Hwy 400 opened in 1952 and the station closed in 1964. In 1976 the freight house was torn down, and the station moved to where you see it now. Kleinburg is now part of Vaughan.

Still there today looking nice, although a very tight shot due to the surrounding school property being built out.

Notable Canadian broadcaster Pierre Berton, a local Kleinburg resident, had a hand in saving the station.
