The diamonds for CP’s North Toronto Sub are visible after the second foreman’s crossing in the distance (beyond that is Old Weston Road grade crossing). The vegetation was getting thick around here, but some was pruned for the then-ongoing West Toronto Railpath construction. It might not look like it, but there was some construction going on for the West Toronto grade separation at the time. Construction in the Junction would pick up in the next few years, and by 2014 a large fly-under trench, a modern signalbridge, welded rail and sound barriers would replace this at-grade stretch of the Weston Sub. 525, one of the first group of F59PH units built in 1988, would be retired and sold to Trinity Railway Express in 2009.
