Comments on: Are we handing off at the grocery store? “That is correct, over.” A monstrous CN Q111 has just eased to a stop near the Foodland in Capreol, south of the only crossing connecting one half of town to the other. It’s a railway town and the locals barely take note of the metal behemoth lurking quietly down from the Young Street crossing, except to make sure they can grab their supplies and get home before a few miles of freight block the road for some time. It’s a somewhat green crew today, possibly on a familiarization run, judging by the colours of their vests and the more-than-the-usual-two number of people climbing into the cab. Coffees in hand, they prepare to air up and head into the barren expanses of the Ruel Sub.

In the USA. Orange vests are trainees, and Yellow are qualified employees.

While yes its true what they say the green vests are the newer employees, less then a year if I’m not mistaken, I have family and friends who still have green vests and they have been there 25 and 10+ years respectively.

So it can be hard to tell at times….

Last time I was in Capreol was to shoot the street sign at the corner Of Mooney & Railroad St. Damn sign was gone. ( Oh well. I did get the sign of ‘Arnold & Railroad St’ in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. One of these days……Capreol will put up a new sign..
Oh, I must stop reminiscing ….. what I meant to say was: Its nice to see the ‘human side’ of railroading here. Good shot!
