Comments on: As a follow-up from the previous image of the steam-powered westbound at Cooksville, here’s a general overview of the Canadian Pacific’s Cooksville Station area looking northwest from the top of the Highway 5 / Dundas Street East overpass in 1957. CPR D10 882 has just passed under the overpass and is heading west on the Galt Sub past the old wooden Cooksville Station (note the old red CP Express truck parked outside). In the background is the S.H. Dellow Block and Builders supply plant, a longtime local maker of concrete blocks (with a siding for rail service).

Hmm, Mavis north of Dundas was Cooksville Brick's old quarry, which closed sometime in the 90's. They also had rail service off the CP's Galt Sub.

Oh, what a wonderful picture. The street on the right lead to Doctor Pinkney's - he was the vet. we took our dog to. Was that S.H.Dellow? Later, in the 60's, it was Primeau-Argo and Dellow was located on Mavis Road just north of Dundas. I'm sorry I can only give One Star. I'd give this one a 10!
