Comments on: As has been told many times on this site, the NS trains #327 (westward) and the counterpart #328, St. Thomas-Buffalo sported some great combinations of power that made almost every day this train could be observed a real treat. And it even kept regular time!!! At Copetown we see STLH 5532, NS 4013 and CP 5431 on an early March morning, this train usually thru here around 0930. I believe all three units pictured have now been been retired from their respective rosters. Are there any locomotives still around in their ST. Lawrence & Hudson stencils?

Funny mentioning NS units. CN 330 had CN 2403, and I believe NS 9013 today. I’ve seen 330/331 and 421/422 quite a few times with NS and BNSF units. CSX’s and UP’s seem to be more scarce. There’s definitely no shortage of FPON’s. As exciting as today’s FPON’s are though, it doesn’t compare with stuff like this, especially when 90% of it is just foreign “modern” toasters. All the trains come in during school hours except for 330 which catching during the dark doesn’t always make for a good shot. Every free weekend= fanning though.

DoctaPinklaces, you need to spend more time trackside, I’ve seen a bunch of NS units on 330/331 in the past six months as well as have known about them on 421/422 also

Oh geez, I haven’t spotted a STL&H unit since at least 2005. I really do miss the NS trains coming through. Yesterday, CN 422 come through the St Kitts station with a NS unit, and that was the first time since the NS Trains were cancelled that I’ve seen one at the station. Nice photo!
