Comments on: As is sometimes the case, CN 421 had come from Aldershot with its Hamilton set off only. After making their setoff, they lifted CN 2280 and CN 2451 which were in Hamilton Yard, and went out onto the connecting track to clear a crossover in order to head back to Aldershot to grab the rest of their train for Port Rob. 2451 and 2280 would bounce back overnight on an extra out of Port Rob.

If there's a lift in Aldershot and a set off in Hamilton, crews will prefer to get rid of Hamilton traffic to lighten the work load, not block crossings at Hamilton, and less walking. They would pull right into track 1 at the west end of Hamilton.

Not uncommon for both 421 and 422 to pingpong between the two spots. I'm guessing it's to do with train length.

Nice light move shot. Why didn't they take the entire train out of Aldershot instead of heading back from the Hammer only to pass through again to Port Rob?
