Comments on: Back in 2004 I only had my good camera for a few months, I was more into drinking and partying than taking pictures of trains and my photography skills were limited. But sometimes I parked in the right spot at the right time and managed to capture something half decent – I heard a rail grinder was coming so I went to ayr excited but not before two trains – this – and the Ham Turn would go by. This over time has become the much better catch :) A former SOO SD40-2 lacking in dynamic brakes. One can also see the large elevator complex that once sat at this site. here’s what’s left of it now – not much!

Yeah sweet leader there. I really miss the backdrop in Ayr the elevators and buildings provided. You can't even really shoot here now with the construction and fencing they put up.

Very nice Steve. Classic for us young-ins on here :) I was relatively new to photography at this time too. I did more video-taping than photography actually. My biggest mistake with that was missing shots of the CSX SD70ACes on GEXR 432, and a 7-unit GP lash-up on 432 with 100+ cars entering Kitchener! All in 2004...boy I regret that now. This spot was definitely my go-to spot on CP...I just started driving on my own at this time as well. I was so innocent at that time :)
