Comments on: Back in August of 2013, RLHH 595 sits at Garnet Ontario with a trio of GP20D’s in the Southern Ontario Railways yard there. This was a beginning of a transition era at Garnet, Genesee and Wyoming had recently purchased Rail America and all of its subsidies making the SOR a G&W line. Traffic levels on the Hagersville Sub were surging and Garnet was unable to handle the increase in car loads coming into and out of ESSO. The large equipment in the foreground of the image was there to aid in the construction of the new yard track at Garnet which would be completed before the winter. I also blame Steve Host for this shot…he posted the photo of CEFX 2006 yesterday and got me thinking back to shots I had of the GP20D’s on the SOR. Apparently nobody but me liked them!
