Comments on: Back in the days of the INCO Electrics, we see motors #123 and 126 rolling past the landmark chimneys of Copper Cliff back in 1985. The barren lands of Greater Sudbury have been considerably cleaned up since these rather dirty times, and green vegetation has returned to the area.
Diesels were introduced to INCO and electrification ended in 2000. Most units scrapped, inc the two shown.
Motor #123 and 126 are both 85T units, built in 1942 and 1950 respectively and purchased for operation in the sprawling Sudbury area complex in 1971 from Kennecott Copper.

Thanks. Sure will be interesting to see how they plan on taking this behemoth off the property. It had to be one heck of a job just constructing it.

This is great, not many shots of INCO electrics with the INCO lettered cars. The superstack was decommissioned in the last few years, 2018 I believe. Currently Vale is developing plans on how to demolish it, and I believe the inner steel liner has been removed.

I cannot believe the size of the stacks in this photo. They dwarf everything else in the picture. Excellent post Mr. Mooney.
