Comments on: Back when I took shot this image of CN 7305 and 7316 running the Fonthill Spur back to the Canal Line, it would be only a month before CN gave this up to PCHR,(Port Colborne Harbour Railway)-now Trillium. This was actually the last time I saw CN service business on this trackage. The view is from the corner of Lyndon St. W and Ormond St S., and the area still is pretty much the same as it was, save for the fact the apartment building has solar panels on the end.

Immediately to my right the Ormond St S cross bucks and posts were removed a while ago; maybe last winter. I posted a couple of Pine St shots on here, hope you have seen them. Sure miss the activity thru here. Its all history now.

Ok well thank you for your reply Arnold and really?? Darn wonder how long these tracks have been dormant for? The old street running on Pine st sure would’ve been a heck of a scene to the railfans today but sure glad a handul on here were able to get some nice photos of it for the future railfans like me before the window abruptly closed (when the plant went bankrupt)

Anyone know why they removed the spark arrestors in the rebuild process and went with the original stacks? And the black side cabs.. the only noticeable difference to me from the 1200 series to the 7000′s.

Memories… Growing up on the hill – just north of the tracks on Townline Road, I spent a lot of time in Thorold. With a sister living on Patricia Street, I passed this particular area dozens of times. The folks at Historic Thorold (Facebook) have some terrific images of trains in Thorold.

A nostalgic line for me — never saw CN on it, but watched Trillium all the time go up and down the line all the time growing up. Back then it was almost a daily occurrence, now they’re reduced to Fridays I’m led to believe. St Kitts is down to twice a week

Very nice. I always liked how CN ran their SW1200RS configs where CP ran there’s back to back. Wonder why the difference? And in satellite view you can see Trillium S2@ or S3 switching the Chemical factory at the end of the spur!
